Company Profile

If you've decided that a Limited Company is right for you then there are a few steps you need to take before you can start trading.

Registering with Companies House

The first thing you'll need to do is decide on your company name, then check to make sure it's not registered by visiting www.companieshouse.gov.uk. Clear Umbrella can also check availability of your new company name on your behalf, please call our office for further details. Next you'll need to decide who your Directors and Shareholders will be, and when you're ready to go ahead and set up your Limited Company, we'll do all the paperwork for you for free.

Business Bank Account

You'll need to open a business bank account so that you can keep your business and personal finances separate. We'll send you all the necessary forms and if you have any questions at all just get in touch with one of our consultants.

Your first contract

Now that you're ready to trade, you're ready to sign your first contract. This might be directly with a client, or it may be with a recruitment consultant. Make sure you get advice about your current tax status before you sign.

Invoices

When you have completed a job, you'll need to send an invoice, either to your client or recruitment consultant. Payments should be made into your business bank account. Now it's time to decide whether you will be operating inside or outside IR35.
Business expenses

Don't forget, you can claim Tax and National Insurance relief on all your legitimate business expenses.
Paperwork and reports

We will make sure all your reports are completed on time at the end of your company's tax year - i.e. when the company has been trading for a year. A Director will need to verify and sign this paperwork.
One simple monthly fee

All these services can be provided for one simple monthly fee with no hidden charges. That's the Clear Umbrella promise.
